9/27 Sunday Primetime TV Ratings Predictions

Sunday Primetime TV

America’s Funniest Home Videos
1.7+

New season and New host for AFHV.  Tom Bergeron has left and Alfonso Ribeiro has replaced him.  I think with a new host, the show might increase a little, but not that much.  Ribeiro was on Dancing With The Stars, where he took home the Ball trophy last Fall!

Once Upon a Time  2.3 @ best

The 5th season of Once Upon a Time premieres tonight and boy am I curious to see where the season goes.  Last season, the season premiered with a 3.7 demographics and ended with a 1.8.

I don’t see the tonight’s ratings making it back to the 3.0 range, but the show will likely be in the 2.0 range with The Savior, Emma Swan now as The Dark One. Also, new character from the movie Brave, “Merida” will also be featured in season 5!

Blood & Oil
Tough call but I’m saying 1.7+

New series Blood & Oil premieres after OUAT!  I’m saying that the show will premiere decent for ABC because I’m not completely confident that the show will do good against Football, and the CSI Movie Series Finale.

Oil has been heavily promoted by ABC.  The only pros I can think of is the cast seem pretty interesting and it is on ABC.  Last season, ABC had the its best performance based on scripted series.  Most of their scripted series were renewed for this season.

If Blood & Oil can keep a 1.5+ throughout its 13 order episodes, when we can see a full 22 episode order and possibly a renewal for next season.

Quantico
1.6+

Quantico Premieres after Blood & Oil, and I think that ABC should of aired another show like Nashville to this time and night.

Quantico was suppose to air on Tuesday at this time-slot, but ABC benched Of Kings and Prophets and decided to moved Quantico here.  It’s a tough call to see how well this series will do because this night and time is one of ABC’s worst time-slots and it’s up against NFL and CSI.

On the positive side, the series has received positive reviews from critics and is said to be “one of the best new series of the season.”

After seeing the preview, I personally think that this is one of my MUST SEE Show!

The series is a diverse group of recruits who have arrived at the FBI Quantico Base for training. They are the best, the brightest and the most vetted, so it seems impossible that one of them is suspected of masterminding the biggest attack on New York City since 9/11.

*If you are a #TGIT Fan, then Quantico is the show for you.

60 Minutes
2.4-2.9

Football Inflation!

CSI Series Finale (Movie Event)
2.0

After 15 year of Crime Scene Investigation, the drama series will finally come to an end with a special movie event.  The series will end around a 2.0 range based on football inflation and the finale event.

Sunday NFL

Will win the night 7.5+ because it’s Football and the most watched and most rating show of the season.

Tonight, FOX will see low ratings from all their shows based on heavy competition from the other networks and due to not having NFL inflation to boost their ratings!

Bob’s Burgers
1.0+

On at 7:30 tonight, won’t benefit from football and will be the start of a weak Animation-Comedy Domination for FOX.

The Simpsons
1.5+

I don’t see The Simpsons rising up in the 2.0 for its premiere because of a weak lead-in from Bob’s Burger and no football boost.

However, the show is renewed for another season, so fan don’t worry, you’ll see another season!

Brooklyn 99
1.2-1.4

Low premiere due to where it ended last season, and no Football boost.

Family Guy
1.7+

FOX’s top comedy drama of the night, it will premiere down from it’s crossover premiere with The Simpsons last season, but should be FOX’s top show of the night.

Last Man On Earth
1.3+

With no Football and weak numbers from the shows before it premieres, LMoE will be at a 1.3 best for the night.

9/24 Thursdays Night Primetime TV Broadcast Predictions

Thursday 9/24 Predictions

It's Premiere week for Thursday and the only networks that have original programs are ABC, CBS and NBC.  ABC Thursdays features the #TGIT Drama shows, CBS with NFL, and NBC with their revised Thursday Fall line up of the 2 hour season premiere of the revival series "Heroes Reborn" and New Series "The Player."

FOX was too scared to air Bones and Sleepy Hollow this week show they decided to air an encore on Scream Queens and The CW won't air original episodes of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals until October.  Check out by predictions and comment on how you think the shows will do! Thanks!

#TGIT is Back but ratings will be lower this year from last year

Grey’s Anatomy 2.5-2.7

The show just said goodbye to one of its main characters since the series premiere.  I predict the show will be up from its finale which got a 2.2 finale, because of the #TGIT Promotion, but down for its 3.1 premiere. Throughout the 11th season, the show has stayed steady around a 2.3-2.6.

Grey’s will also have 25 episodes this season which is most episodes the series has gotten since the 3rd season.

Scandal

Tough call but I’m saying 2.5-2.9

Scandal enters its 5th season and even though last season it was one of ABC’s top drama and scripted shows, the ratings declined toward the end of the season.  Last season, Scandal premiered to a 3.8 series high, went as low as a 2.1 midseason and ended the 4th season off with a 2.3.

Once How to Get Away With Murder ended in February, that ended the full night of #TGIT and American Crime took over Murder’s timeslot.  One can say that American Crime was the downfall of Scandal since the Crime series did not do better than a 2.0 after Scandal 3.2 lead-in.  Or another could say that the writing from Scandal wasn’t interesting and lost viewers.

Even though the show has seen its worst ratings since the 1st season and the beginning of the 2nd season, again with the #TGIT promotion, Scandal should be up from its finale back in May.
* Scandal has been reduce to 21 episodes this year down from last season’s 22 episode order.

How To Get Away With Murder
2.6-3.0

Out of the #TGIT night, Murder is my favorite show and I’m pumped to see the second season.  The show is currently ABC’s top drama show dethroning Scandal and with Viola Davis being the 1st African American Actress to win Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series, you can bet viewers will tune into show.

Murder opened up with a 3.8 demo tying with Scandal and ended with a 2.8.  The only TGIT series to stay in the mid 2.0 due to only having 15 episodes.  If it had a full season order, the ratings might have gone lower.

I don’t believe the show will crack a 3.0, but I do think the show can potentially be the top #TGIT show of the night as well a top scripted series too.
*Murder will consist of 15 episodes this season (same from last year).

Thursday NFL

Nothing Greater than a 7.0

NFL will win the night because Football always wins!

Heroes Reborn
1.7-2.2

The return of Heroes will lead the night for NBC with a 2 Hour Premiere.  Reborn is a revived series from the 2006-2010 hit series Heroes.  This season some of the original character will be back on the show but there will also be new characters.

IDS the show preforming that well because the back in February 2010, the series ended with a 2.0. It also faces CBS’s NFL and ABC’s #TGIT which are top certain to be the top shows for the night.  Nowadays, a 2.0 is good for show, but I doubt the show will be a keeper for NBC because NBC’s freshman scripted series don’t make it past their first season.  Also, after seeing how Scream Queens performed I doubt a 2 hour premiere is necessary.

The Player

1.1 at Best DOA

I don’t see Heroes Reborn helping The Player at 10:00pm.  Again based on NBC history of having a poor drama series at 10:00pm, I don’t see this show lasting long.  I personally believe it will be NBC first show to be cancelled!

The Player = DOA = Death on Arrival

NBC has decided to Benched The Blacklist this week of an extra Hour of Heroes Reborn.  Next Week The Blacklist will Premiere Thursday October 1st at 9:00pm on NBC!

Scream Queens (R)
0.8

Scream Queens opened up with low ratings this past Tuesday (1.7 demographics) and I don’t see airing a repeat with boost the ratings next week!

The Vampire Diaries (R)

The Originals (R)

New seasons of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals premieres October 8th, 2 weeks from now on THE CW (Dare to Defy)
